Route 66 Initiative Announced
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is launching a program to help areas along Route 66 deal with asbestos contamination.
The program was put in place to address concerns over how asbestos
was being handled by communities that were renovating or demolishing
old buildings. The program targets rural communities in northern
Arizona and intends to educate and assist with cleanup.
